There is ALREADY a fucking prequel to The Thing.
It’s called The Thing from Another World. It was released in 1951. Certain scenes from it are used in John Carpenter’s version.
It’s better than John Carpenters version. The characters are better. The actors are better. It has one of the very first examples of a “full burn” ever committed to film.
